Japanese female graffiti artist Shiro, has used manga styled characters as inspiration for this publication. Her fun loving vision of life comes out in her art with inspirations coming from old school hip hop, Bboy and of course manga culture.

Although manga wasn't my only interest as a kid (I was really more into video games), Japanese manga has a big impact on my art work. In Japan, manga is an important staple of our culture, as important as rice and chopsticks are in Japanese cuisine!"

As you know we like to take our review books on journeys, with location shots in skateparks, old derelict buildings, someone's studio or an old workshop. None of the usual table set up with directive lighting for us, just the natural light that (if it's a quality publication) shows the title off in it's raw state! Also we like to put a hand or a foot in to give you a perspective of how big the book is.

With this book we thought we would give the back drop a bit of colour and texture, because as the title states Style Needs No Colour, and yeh know, it just maybe right!

If you think train spotting's boring then it's time to get on track with this new title.

Are you fed up with the usual Virgin, Amtrak, ACP or VIA logos glistening in the mid mornin sun, and do you think, "same old same old".

Once in a while you may just be lucky enough to catch a fleeting glimpse of a graffitied locomotive on it's way for a scrub down over in the rail yard after a bombing session from the night before.

I guess what we're trying to say is, graffitited trains are a rarity these days, it doesn't mean the graffers aren't out doing it anymore-cos they are, it just means the authorities have found more efficient ways of removing the spray from the trains...unfortunately for us.

This book shows the pics before they get washed off, thus documenting the hard work and stealth missions it takes to liberate a train from it's corporate imagery.

We finally managed to get a copy of Faith's book and wow it was worth the wait.

As you open the book, you get propelled on a vibrant visual jouney, a full colour head on collision with the pages.
