Good Mornin All
Shiver me timbers, we got out and about again this morning and it was actually cold.
Hoodie up and gloves on we had a few problems with the Montana Hardcore drying on the shell of the LadyBird but we got there in the end... Smokin!
A BiG Thank you to Relentless Energy Drinks for their support in supplying us tins - perfect for those early morning sessions

dogcam, Bullet HD, Proffessional Helmet Camera Systems

The guys at Dogcam have been kind enough to lend us two Bullet HD cams to try out at NASS.
With head, helmet, handlebar, goggle and limpet sucker attachments we should be able to get into all sorts of mischief with this product! After slamming in the 32GB micro memory card and making sure it is at full charge, we are ready for the off.
Oh yeh, it also has a waterproof option - so we are ready for whatever the weather can throw at us...

The Art of Luke Chueh, Bearing the Unbearable, Titan Books

The Art of Luke Chueh
Bearing the Unbearable
Publisher: Titan Books

We've really got into Luke's art over the last few years and as luck would have it we managed to hook up an interview with him about a year ago. At that time we thought his work output was high and finally this long awaited, fully illustrated book of Mr Chuehs hits the shelves!
With lovely crisp images and a bit of text to get your teeth into, this title has been long overdue in our opinion. The contents takes us from Intro to 2003 and through the years to 2009. Pictures speak louder than words or so the olde saying goes and this is how it comes across, a positive bounty of imagery which records the diverse products of Luke's work. His work not only adorns the usual canvases and prints but also CD/DVD covers, skateboards, toys, t shirts, iPhone, iPod, and laptop skins.
We quote from the book:
"Like a cuddly Trogen Horse, Chueh's work is pretty on the outside but nice and macabre on the inside" so says Entertainment Weekly.

"Employing minimal colour schemes, simple animal characters and a seemingly endless list of ill-fated situations, Chueh stylistically balances cute with brute, walking the fine line between comedy and tragedy"

As far as we are concerned this publication is far from unbearable, it's truly a shining star in a hard cover and a joy to have in our library collection.
Let's have a flick through then...

Juxtapoz Magazine, July 2012 Issue

 Art + Culture Magazine
July 2012
This is the Adult Swim issue... 'what', we hear you ask?
It looks at Cartoon Networks, Sit Coms and the movie Adult Swim. Catching up with the artists, actors, writers and creatives that are involved in those industries. Various well known shows are featured like Black Dynamite, Squidbillies and Children's Hospital to name just a few.
So what more do we find in the watery depths of this publication:
Black Dynamite: Adult Swim the movie.
Childrens Hospital: A Rob Corddry creation.
Robot Chicken: Unique Emmy and Annie nominated animation series
Superjail
... you want more, there is!
A quote that caught our eye in the Robot Chicken interview goes like this, "The animators are actors, so we will add things we never even thought possible into the actions of the show".
Ok, time to dive in...
