Architects Sketchbooks. Thames and Hudson

Architects' SketchBooks
Publisher: Thames & Hudson
If you're fascinated with architecture and design like we are, then this book could set your RSJ's a  tingling.
Full to the brim with colourful concepts and game plans for houses, apartments, factories, outhouses, land layouts, eco/eye (friendly car parks), bridges, airports and more... gasp, breathe!
The architects contributing to the book stack up as well, with people like:
Ben Addy
Will Alsop
BPR
Brent Buck
Cindy Rendely
Fantastic Norway
Norman Foster
Sean Godsell
Eva Jiricna
DMAA
A4 Studio - need we say more, oh go on then... more!
With captions and a general summary of the artist or studio, it is well written and enhanced by examples of  drawings/scribbles/sketches of individual's work or works in progress. Also with computer mock - ups, models and simulations to stimulate even the most mundane of clientele and others like Ben Addy starting off his ideas with a simple pen, pencil and paper to get the creative juices flowing.
Here is a classic comment from Frank Clementi when he exclaims, "I wish I could draw better. I wish I knew what to draw. Tree's shouldn't look like boulders on scaffolding - that's how mine turn out if I'm not careful"
RD (It's refreshing to know it happens to the pro's as well)☋
OK, time to get your hard hat and steel toe caps on, we're going inside...

Street Photography Now. Sophie Howarth. Thames and Hudson

Street Photography Now
Authors: Sophie Howarth and Stephen McLaren
Publisher: Thames & Hudson

Images from over 45 photographers, count um 45!

Getting down and dirty in the urban jungle, capturing shots at 1/24 of a second that otherwise would have been lost forever.

Street Photography Now, ventures into cities throughout the world collecting stills along the way, with stuff like men beating a dieing oxen in the streets of Spain (not so nice) to granddad towing granddaughter behind his powered wheel chair up an incline. A real juxtaposition in the styles and themes of the artists that click the pics.

Also included are descriptions and quotes by the photographers themselves, here are a few for you:

'Photographing in public keeps me awake and aware, always looking around, in awe at what humans are up to.'
Melanie Einzig

'You need obsession, dedication and balls.
Get out there while you still can.'
Martin Parr

'Street photography is like gambling.
You get lucky or you get nothing...'
Markus Hartel

This book is a well put together ensemble of colourful and fetching stills, more of an orchestration for the eyes than a calamity for the senses.

Go on, have a wander around inside...

App a Week. 'Alice For The iPad. Taschen App and Mobile Case Study Book

'Alice For The iPad'

Category: Promotional

For use on:
⁍iPhone
⁍ iPad
⁍Video Demonstration

Alice For The iPad
This apparently is a glimpse into the future of digital reading and one of the most impressive E Books out there so far...
This little number is a clever take on Lewis Carrol's original Book 'Alice in Wonder Land' but gives you the chance to interact till the cows come home. A lot of new illustrations were added and some of the original illustrations (some of them up to 145 years old) were scanned but don't let that put you off. Up to date tech was added like virtual gravity and physics which allows you to interact with the characters and objects on screen.

It's a scream - if your the type that gets bored after 15 minutes of just reading... it's time to shake the Pad!
Quote by Oprah Winfrey:
"It's going to change the way the kids learn"
From the book.

Collaboration: Rad Dad Collective have hooked up with Taschen Publishing to bring you an 'App a Week.' The inspiration came when we received a copy of The App & Mobile Case Study Book from Taschen and we were well impressed!

Neonbeige Ehrenhoodie Cartridges line. Hoodie. Nathalie van den Bergh

Meet Imogen, she is a second year textile student at Derby University and was up for a bit of modelling. Here, she is showing one of Nathalie van den Bergh's hoodie designs.
This is the first product test of the Neonbeige Ehrenhoodie Cartridges line, a wicked idea that Nathalie came up with when her sister wanted a cover just for her head.
They are available in various colours and fabrics. Imogen preferred the pink 'Simrock Bali' design if she'd  had a choice and she thought it was a cozy way to spend a tutorial session.
Look for more adventures of the Neonbeige Hoodie over the next few weeks...

By the way the site is in German, all you need to know is what 'In den Warenkorb' means, which is  'Add to shopping basket"... Sorted☋
